Herbert has been journeying through nature with a large amount of passion and in many different ways for many years. Already as a child he began climbing and mountaineering at home in Pinzgau (State of Salzburg, Austria). Later on, hang-gliding and para-gliding became welcome additions to his hobbies.
Since 1980 the independent master carpenter is also working as a mountain guide. Since 1998 he regularly journeys to the mountains of the world. His first tours abroad took him to the Caucasus (Elbrus, Uschba). Later on followed expeditions to South America (Huascaran, Alpamayo), expeditions to Asia (Nanga Part, Cho You, Gasherbrum II, Gasherbrum II, Ama Dablam, Muztagh Ata) as well as expeditions on the Kilimanjaro.
Mountaineering in as untouched nature as possible and the adventure of the unknown tempt him time and time again.
Just as valuable to him is the encounter with foreign people. The needs and wants of his travelling group is very important to him.
Another thing of great importance to him is respect in general and respect toward the lifestyles of the people in the countries where he travels.
