Insurance

Swiss Participants

Insurance  (e.g. accident, transport home, etc.) is the responsibility of the participant (please check for «worldwide» option). Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.  For Swiss nationals, we can provide a one-year «MobiTour» Insurance by Swiss Mobiliar Insurances. This insurance is not included in the package price.     For a booking price from CHF 2,500.– to CHF 10,000.– the insurance premium is CHF 83.–  For a booking price from CHF 10,000.– to CHF 20,000.– the insurance premium is CHF 99.– There is also the option to get a short-term insurance, which is only valid for the duration of one trip ( only available for a booking price of under CHF 2,500.–).  If you book your trip after the onset of our cancellation period (specified by the tour operator, cf. our General Terms & Conditions), you need to secure the appropriate insurance cover in the next 10 days upon receiving your personal booking confirmation.

Participants From Other Countries

For participants residing in countries other than Switzerland, it is not possible to get a MobiTour Insurance. In the following, we provide some links to insurance companies/ insurance offers: WorldNomads Columbus direct A good place to start looking for appropriate insurance cover is your national mountaineering council/club (e.g. British Mountaineering Council, American Alpine Club, etc.).

Baggage Insurance

Your baggage is not insured, since there are different insurance conditions for every country and we cannot take all into account (e.g. in Switzerland baggage insurance is often contained in houshold insurances). Please take note of our insurance recommendations.

Please bear in mind that, according to IATA regulations airline companies can only be made reliable for lost luggage in cases of proven intent or gross negligence, which, in practice, is hard to account for. Additionally, reimbursements will be done per kg of lost luggage, and the price/kg is, indeed, very low.
