Two 8000ers in the Himalaya
Shisha Pangma & Cho Oyu

06. April – 01. June 2012 / 57 days

Fr. 18,600 / € 14,880 with 5 People

Leitung: Suzanne Hüsser, Mountain guide

Shisha Pangma and Cho Oyu: two high mountains that can be combined in one journey. The Tibetan name shi sha sbang ma means «the area above the grasslands» and describes exactly the view one has when travelling to the mountain from the north. The name cho oyu assumedly is a compound of the Tibetan words chomo (goddess) and yo (turquoise), and means «goddess of turquoise». Already in 2001, Kari successfully climbed Shisha Pangma and Cho Oyu with a group.

  • The double expedition: two mountains, ideally combined.
  • Journey-in via Kathmandu, Zangmu (Tibet) and Nyalam to Shisha Pangma base camp and then to Cho Oyu base camp. Journey back via Zangmu.
  • Good to know that we have made many successful expeditions to both mountains.
  • Extra bonus: 1 local porter per 4 participants, up-to-date weather forecast.
