In the footsteps of the 1956 Swiss expedition
Mount Everest, South

29. March – 24. May 2014 / 57 days

The southern ascent on the highest mountain in the world is definitely one of the most well known routes on an 8000m peak. This route, climbed in May 1956 by a team of Swiss climbers in their 2nd and 3rd successful attempt to reach the peak, has a history of exciting mountaineering adventures. This expedition is, without a doubt, the best way of showing respect for our predecessors.

  • The route from the south up the Khumbu Icefall, Western Cwm and South East Ridge is very popular. Thanks to our local team we should make good progress.
  • Another of our expeditions is climbing Lhotse at the same time, so we will climb to the South Col together. This enhances the chances of success of both groups.
  • The trek through the land of the Sherpas and the international life in base camp are experiences not to be missed
  • 2008 and 2009 all our clients reached Mt. Everest from the South (Nepal) and 2010 all our guests using oxygen reached the peak, this time from the North (Tibet) - there are only a few travel organisers which are crowned with such success!
  • Expedition experience necessary and/or mountain guide.
