Pyramid on the Border to Bhutan
Kula Kangri

06. September – 06. October 2013 / 31 days

Leitung: offen

Kula Kangri is a quite challenging mountain on the border between Bhutan and Tibet. The Mongolian tribes that have been inhabiting the Tibetan high plateau for the last thousands of years, set up local principalities in the 2nd century BC. The kingdom established at that time in the Tsangpo Valley is considered the cradle of Tibetan culture.

  • We approach unknown Kula Kangri via Lhasa – a journey with many cultural highlights. Our base camp is located in a beautiful lake area, which we approach on foot from the Bhutanese border and the village of Sennge Qu. The panoramic views into the vast Tibetan plateaus and over difficult-to-access Bhutan are overwhelming. The ascent is very varied from a technical point of view and perfectly feasible for mountaineers experienced in alpine mountain climbing. Kobler & Partner were one of the first agencies to organise a Kula Kangri expedition in 2007 – our experience is your benefit! Quality bonus: 1 local high altitude porter per 4 participants, up-to-date weather forecast.
