Muztagh Ata

09. June – 08. July 2012 / 30 days

Fr. 5,880 / € 4,700 with 12 People

Leitung: Helmut Kritzinger, Mountain guide

Fascinated by the beauty of the «Father of the Ice Mountains», Sven Hedin tried to summit Muztagh Ata already in 1894, but he did not succeed. The uniqueness of this area lies in its desert-like foreland of the mountain giants and the different peoples who live here. On the journey-in, we visit Kashgar, located on the old Silk Route at the west end of the Taklamakan Desert, which is ideal to start our trip.

  • The ideal beginner’s expedition with an average slope angle of 25 degrees – a fantastic mountain for skiing and snowshoeing.
  • Kobler & Partner are pioneers in offering guided ascents to this mountain and can rely on long years of experience.
  • The journey via Kyrgyzstan, also called «Switzerland of Central Asia», is the most direct way to Muztagh Ata.
  • An expedition, where not only the mountain itself, but also the cultural and scenic attractions are important to us.
  • Equipment for skiing or snowshoeing necessary.
