Neighbour of the «Black Giant»
Broad Peak

03. June – 19. July 2013 / 47 days

Leitung: offen

Broad Peak (8047m) is the 3rd highest peak in the Karakoram Range and the 4th highest in Pakistan. It was originally named «K3» right after the naming of K2 but on closer inspection by a later party, it was discovered that the summit was over 1,5 kilometres (1 mile) long, thus «Broad Peak». Apart from K2, Broad Peak surely is one of the most impressive Baltoro peaks, most loved by mountaineers from all over the world due to the very direct ascent route.

  • Broad Peak: an eight-thousander, where you can get «right down to business»!
  • During our hike to the mountain, we’ll be able to explore one of the greatest mountain areas.
  • Concordia Square: breathtaking views over stunning glaciers and some of the highest peaks in the world.
  • Climbing difficulty for Broad Peak is moderate.
  • It’s neighbour, pyramid-shaped K2, is the proud asset of Pakistan.
  • Quality bonus: high-altitude porters from Pakistan and Nepal (1 porter per 4 participants), up-to-date weather forecast.
