Expedition in Tibet – Journey via Kathmandu
Shisha Pangma, Lhasa

06. April – 19. May 2013 / 44 days

Shisha Pangma was the last 8000m peak to be conquered by the Chinese in 1964. It is located in south Tibet on Chinese territory, but it is the closest 8000m peak to Kathmandu. The Indian name for the mountain, Gosainthan, means «Place of the Saints».

  • The central summit of Shisha Pangma is the «easiest» 8000m peak.
  • New: better and more attractive acclimatisation journey via Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse to Mt Everest Base Camp and Shisha Pangma base camp.
  • Shisha Pangma is possibly the only 8000m peak which can be ascended up to 7100m with skis if preferred.
  • Good to know we have been successful on this mountain several times.
  • Extra bonus: 1 local porter per 4 participants, up-to-date weather forecast.
